Standefer joins Ewing’s agronomics team to ramp up service and support in the North Houston area.  

March 16, 2010, Phoenix, Ariz.—In an effort to strengthen support to Green Industry professionals in the turf and ornamental products arena of Texas, Ewing has enhanced its agronomics sales team with the addition of Jay Standefer, who will provide service and support to North Houston landscape professionals.

Standefer has 20 years of industry experience and a diverse background in turf and ornamentals. He holds a bachelor of science degree in agronomy from New Mexico State University.

Before joining Ewing, Standefer worked for an alternative national distributor of landscape and irrigation supplies. Prior to that, he gained extensive experience in golf construction and maintenance when he went to work for the New Mexico Military Institute after college. From there he took on numerous projects in various locations including the Mision De Los Lagos in Juarez, Mexico, and the Mission Hills Country Club in China.

With extensive experience in golf construction and maintenance, Standefer understands the needs of the contractor, and plans to apply his experience as an end user to support his customers.

“I strive to provide the same service that I expected when I was a customer,” said Standefer.

Standefer will operate out of Ewing’s Spring, Tex. branch, located at 1935 Spring Cypress Rd.
