GCSAA Members Can Now Attend Ewing Irrigation Troubleshooting Workshops to Receive Education Points.
January 14, 2008, Phoenix, Ariz.—If you’re one of the over 20,000 Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) members looking for an avenue to accrue Education Points, you can now attend any 2008 Ewing Irrigation one-day or two-day Irrigation Troubleshooting workshop for point credit.
GCSAA members will receive .5 Education Points for attending Ewing’s One-Day Irrigation Troubleshooting Workshop, and 1.4 Education Points for attending the Two-Day Advanced Installation Troubleshooting and Design Workshop.
To maintain Class A membership status, GCSAA members are required to accumulate five points during their five-year renewal cycle, and GCSAA Certified Golf Course Superintendents (CGCS) need to earn 15 points during their five-year renewal cycle.

GCSAA marks Ewing’s most recent education partnership with a trade association. Ewing currently offers Irrigation Association (IA) Continuing Education Units (CEUs), and has worked with the State of Louisiana, Utah Nursery and Landscape Association, and other organizations to offer continuing education credits.
GCSAA has been approving external education for Education Points since 1998, and using their current criteria for approval since the Professional Development Initiative was implemented in July 2003.
