Green Industry professionals have two new resources for solving turf and landscape challenges.
May 31, 2011, Phoenix, Ariz.— Northern California landscape contractors will receive increased service, support and solutions with the addition of two turf and agronomic sales representatives.
Ewing has charged Doug Ghilardi, turf and agronomic sales representative, and Steve Veltri, residential and commercial sales representative, with helping Green Industry professionals efficiently run and grow their businesses.
With over 25 years of experience in various facets of turf and agronomy, Doug Ghilardi will serve as an information resource and solutions provider for landscape professionals in the South Bay area.
“I look forward to utilizing my experience to assist customers in making product choices that will increase project efficiency and improve their agronomic practices,” says Ghilardi.
Serving previously as a branch manager for a large national distributor, Ghilardi will utilize his managerial experience to provide additional sales support and business development opportunities for the customers of Ewing’s San Jose location.
Ghilardi holds a bachelor’s degree in plant science and a master’s degree in business administration, as well as certifications as a California Pest Control Adviser (PCA) and California Certified Crop Adviser (CCA).
With 20 years of customer relations and wholesale distribution experience, Steve Veltri will build and maintain relationships with contractors serving the residential markets, spanning from Monterey to San Carlos, and Santa Cruz to Fremont, to help customers grow profits and gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
“I consider my role as a consultant first, and a salesman second,” says Veltri. “Customers can count on me as their resource for support, solutions, and knowledge of the breadth of products Ewing has to offer.”
Veltri worked previously for an international manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket products for Harley-Davidson® motorcycles, where he gained extensive experience in all facets of wholesale distribution and customer service.
Equipped with a degree in business management, Veltri is involved in several industry associations including the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) and the Irrigation Association (IA), and is looking forward to becoming a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) in July.
Veltri and Ghilardi will operate out of Ewing’s San Jose branch, located at 1735 Rogers Avenue.
