December 01, 2016, Phoenix, Ariz.— Ewing Irrigation’s National Public Agency and Specification Manager, Steve McCarter, was officially inducted to the 2016-2020 board of directors for the Landscape Architecture Foundation this October.
The LAF works to promote sustainability in the landscape industry. Their mission is “to support the preservation, improvement and enhancement of the environment.”
McCarter, also a current American Society of Landscape Architects member (ASLA), is excited for the opportunity to serve the landscape industry in this way.
“As a Landscape Architect I am delighted to give back to the development of initiatives to cultivate the next generation of sustainability leaders,” he said.
McCarter holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Kansas State University and has more than 30 years of experience as a Landscape Architect and Sales Manager in the irrigation and building materials industry.
In addition to his ASLA membership, McCarter is also a registered Landscape Architect in Texas and Oklahoma and is an Irrigation Association Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA).
Staying true to his passion, McCarter has dedicated countless hours to conserving one of the earth’s most precious resources, water. His application of low-volume drip irrigation design and other sustainable products has saved millions of gallons of water across the country.
“Going forward efficient water management will be a critical consideration for Landscape Architects designing the built environment,” McCarter said.
