Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply Leader Inducted as Irrigation Association President

Warren Gorowitz recognized throughout 2017 for sustainability efforts with several honors

Nov. 21, 2017, PHOENIX—Warren Gorowitz, Vice President of Sustainability for Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply, was inducted as Irrigation Association President at the recent 2017 Irrigation Show.

“I’m looking forward to continuing the great work that the association is doing as we focus on our mission to promote efficient irrigation,” Gorowitz said.

One of the core strategic initiatives of the Irrigation Association is advocacy. This includes government affairs, public affairs, standards, codes and professional development. Education, training, certification and workforce development are also focused on.

Gorowitz continues Ewing’s dedication and service to the Irrigation Association, as he becomes the company’s fourth leader to serve as president, preceded by Ray York (1986), Sue York (1998) and Doug York (2008).

“I am passionate about the value and role outdoor greenscapes and agriculture play in our society,” Gorowitz said. “I also want to continue to promote the value of efficient irrigation in these spaces to keep them thriving.” Warren at IA Show

A longstanding member of the Irrigation Association, Gorowitz has served on a number of green industry boards and committees, both for the Irrigation Association and other organizations including: the Green Building Initiative, American Society of Irrigation Consultants, California Landscape Contractors Association, National Association of Landscape Professionals and U.S. Green Building Council to name a few.

Gorowitz said he is honored to be part of a group of thought leaders that have shaped the green industry and believes his experience leading sustainability efforts at Ewing will help him guide the Irrigation Association’s future efforts.

Gorowitz’s passion about sustainability and his leadership role at Ewing has allowed him to make significant and impactful accomplishments for the green industry.

Along with his Irrigation Association Presidency appointment, his positive impact on the industry has been recognized throughout 2017.

This October, Gorowitz was honored with the Leadership Award from Lawn & Landscape magazine. The award recognizes individuals who demonstrate strong leadership skills within the green industry.

Gorowitz was also inducted into the Green Industry Hall of Fame in May for his contributions to the green industry over the past 23 years.

“It’s an honor to be a part of a great group of highly regarded people who have contributed so much to the green industry,” Gorowitz said.

Gorowitz is an Irrigation Association Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor and Texas Licensed Irrigator. He is the third inductee from Ewing, following Ray York (2012) and Sue York (2013).

“Sustainability will not be an option in the future—it will be a must,” Gorowitz said. “I’m excited to be able to help the people in our industry use sustainability to grow their businesses while keeping our world green and healthy.”

At Ewing, Gorowitz has helped introduce several new products to the company, such as Mirimichi Green and Holganix, under the category of Sustainable Solutions. Having these products available gives contractors more eco-friendly options to choose from for their projects.
