Three New Ways to Maintain Perfect Golf Holes

Are your cup cutters getting worn out and difficult to use–or are you looking for ways to save some time on day to day hole maintenance? Luckily there are some emerging products making the time-intensive task of hole cutting faster and easier than ever.

Tacit Golf is lesser known in the U.S. but has wide popularity in Europe, and their hole cutting products caught the eye of Ewing’s golf team this year.

The Shole hole/cup cutter impressed them because it’s so easy to use and cuts the same cup every time, said Brian Hurley, a Ewing golf sales manager.

"You can see why the Tacit product is so popular around the world. The ease of use and sturdy design makes cup cutting easy for anyone to do,” he said.

Some of the features that make the Shole stand out among other cutters on the market include the hammer action, ergonomic design and bull’s eye spirit level for perfectly level cuts.

The Tacit Hammer shoe and hole cutting guide pack also help to keep cuts to the right depth, every time.

Hole trimming and whitening made easy

Another Tacit product that’s making hole maintenance quicker and easier is their Hole Groomer, aka “The Clippy.”

The Hole Groomer provides a quick way to trim and clean up holes, reinstating them to an exact 108mm. It’s a great tool to bring to the putting green to give each hole a quick cut so you can spend less time having to cut new holes, said Brian.

Tacit also offers an Upright Hole Whitener, which provides an easier way to paint hole than bending over with a can of spray.

The upright design protects against mess, wind and drips, without added stress to your knees or back.

And there’s one more way your golf facility can save with these products: the cup cutter, groomer and painter can be purchased together as the Hole Grooming Kit for a discount—the entire package is a must-have for any superintendent, said Brian.
