The Super Bowl has become an unofficial American holiday. Even if your favorite team didn’t make it, the Big Game is still a time when many Americans gather with friends and family to watch the game, chat and eat. Now, let’s be honest. Not everyone likes football. But (almost) everyone likes food. And food is a huge part of the game. So much so that it’s the second largest food consumption day in America. Even if you’re not a fan of football, you might be heading to a party or watching the game just for the excuse to eat. Try out some new recipes this year, including some you can cook in an [**outdoor kitchen**](https://www.ewingirrigation.com/hardscape).

**Super Bowl Through the Years**

- The Pittsburg Steelers have the most wins, with six wins.
- The Minnesota Vikings have been to four games, but have never led at any point during those games.
- There are four current NFL teams that have never been to the Super Bowl: Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns.
- Of the top 10 most watched American television programs of all time, nine of them are Super Bowls.

Pizza, chips and dip, burgers, hot dogs. The list of popular party food is endless. This year, try something a little different with one of these recipes.

- For the main course, try a [**grilled rib-eye steak sub**](http://www.azcentral.com/story/life/food/recipes/2015/01/16/grilled-rib-eye-steak-subs/21818143/).
- Looking for a new BBQ sauce? Here’s a [**list of 10**](http://bbq.about.com/od/barbecuesaucerecipes/tp/10barbecuesauce.htm) you can try.
- Eight million pounds of guacamole is consumed on Super Bowl Sunday (along with 14,500 tons of chips). Here’s [**5 ways**](http://www.cooking.com/recipes-and-more/holy-guacamole-5-easy-creative-twists-article#axzz3PZu7nHqe) to mix it up.
