Ewing Education Services instructor and water management specialist, Christine Hawkins, will be teaching Understanding Two-Wire Decoder Systems this year. Read our Q&A with Christine to learn more about her and the class.
Where do you live, and what’s your favorite thing about living there?
Dublin, Calif. The perfect weather.
How did you get involved in the Green Industry?
I joined Ewing in 2006 with an Environmental Horticulture Science degree from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, previous experience as a Horticultural Specialist, and a passion for sustaining California’s environment.
As a student, I gained nursery and propagation experience at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, and spent time instructing students on plant propagation and served as a greenhouse laboratory assistant and manager at the University of Arizona. I also gained experience as a greenhouse manager for the Interior Foliage Project Greenhouses at Cal Poly, and as a grower’s assistant for Metrolina Greenhouses, Inc.
Now, as a Water Management Specialist for Ewing, I aim to increase the use of water efficient technology in the landscape environment.

Understanding Two-Wire Decoder Systems.

Any contractor who wants to understand two-wire systems, from two-wire system benefits to troubleshooting tips and tools.
Today’s two-wire technology is easier to use than ever before and offers easy-to-expand irrigation control system with long lasting benefits.
Attendees will learn to identify the basic components needed to install a two-wire system.
What is your favorite thing about teaching in the Green Industry?
There is always something new to learn!
