What if we gave you a dollar for every gallon of water wasted in your home last year? We would be giving you a lot; probably thousands of dollars.
How much would be left after paying your water bill—which will have gone up because of those leaks—for the entire year? You wouldn’t have nearly as many dollars. A leak as small as the width of a dime can waste thousands of gallons of water a month in an irrigation system. So save water—and money—by stopping leaks!
Nationwide, more than 1 trillion gallons of water leak from homes each year. That’s why Ewing is participating in Fix a Leak Week from March 12 – 18, to help promote water efficiency and conservation.
Sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) WaterSense program, Fix a Leak Week is an annual reminder for Americans to check their plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems.
Common outdoor leaks can include damaged irrigation systems, such as broken or leaking sprinklers and valves, or faulty drip emitters, backflow preventers and outdoor faucets. In colder climate areas, winter frost and freezes can damage irrigation systems, so it’s important to inspect them before use in the spring.
During this weeklong event, strengthen your customer relationships by offering to repair or upgrade their irrigation systems. Help your customers take care of their water bills by taking care of the leaks in their properties.
