Ewing’s Gorowitz and Glazener are appointed to the Irrigation Association Board of Directors and Irrigation Foundation Board of Trustees.
February 10, 2012, Phoenix, Ariz.— Ewing experts have joined forces with the Irrigation Association and Irrigation Foundation, further extending their commitment to water management and education.
As newly appointed board members for the Irrigation Association and Irrigation Foundation, Warren S. Gorowitz and Tom Glazener will focus on shaping and reinforcing policies and programs that support members and the industry as a whole, while advocating for education and the continued viability of the irrigation industry as a preferred career choice.
Gorowitz, vice president of sustainability and conservation for Ewing, was appointed to the Irrigation Association (IA) Board of Directors and will assist fellow board members in establishing the association's strategic direction, policies and programs.
Warren’s responsibilities also include serving as the IA Board Liaison for the Education Committee and the Irrigation Foundation to help facilitate communication between the groups.
Warren also serves on the IA’s Government Affairs Committee is an IA Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) WaterSense Partner®. Previously, Warren has served as IA Ambassador and as a member of the Smart Water Application Technology Promotions Working Group.
“As the value of water increases, so does the importance of the Irrigation Association in representing the interest of its members on the legislative front, as well as making sure efficient irrigation practices are recognized,” Gorowitz said. “I'm eager to contribute toward the IA’s continued efforts to promote efficient irrigation and the long-term sustainability of water resources.”
Glazener, instructor for Ewing Education Services, has joined the IA’s Irrigation Foundation Board of Trustees.
In his new role, Tom will help identify, strategize and implement activities that support the foundation’s strategic plan in the areas of career awareness and recruitment, education, resources and marketing.
Tom’s interest in serving was sparked by the Foundation's focus on education and irrigation careers. He has served as a member of the Irrigation Foundation’s Careers Task Group since October, and will continue participating in the concept development of an online job board that would allow job seekers to post resumes and review employment opportunities within the irrigation industry.
Tom is an IA Certified Golf Irrigation Auditor, Irrigation Contractor, Irrigation Designer (Residential and Commercial), Landscape Irrigation Auditor, Landscape Water Manager, and an EPA WaterSense Partner®.
