Offering container irrigation inserts like the Tournesol Siteworks line available at Ewing are a win-win for you and your clients: as an efficient self-watering system, these products irrigate plants only when the soil becomes dry, saving you time and labor while keeping plants healthy. For your clients, pairing the container inserts with pots adds a flair that is modern, sleek and appealing.
Container irrigation inserts can reduce the frequency needed for hand watering, saving valuable labor hours. With the oversized shape of the inserts’ reservoirs, you can space hand-watering intervals up to four times longer than traditional pots. That’s up to two weeks for exterior locations and four weeks for indoor pots.
The inserts can be dropped into most decorative pots, whether cylindrical, round, square or tapered. Utilize them for any property, whether residential or commercial, agencies or individuals.
How does container irrigation work?
Fill the self-contained reservoir by hand, and close with the stopper. The water will flow through tubes to the bottom to reach the soil, then wick up to the insert's moisture sensor. The sensor will absorb moisture and then close the tubes, creating a vacuum that prevents more water from flowing. Once the soil has dried, the sensor dries and reopens, and the plant is ready to be watered again.
To accommodate indoor sites, each container insert features an overflow drainage adapter to prevent water spilling onto interior surfaces. Or, if you are placing pots outdoors, remove the adapter to allow excess water to drain out of the container.
With container irrigation, maintaining plants indoors and out has never been easier—or looked better. To learn more about how you can add container irrigation options to the sites you manage, visit your local Ewing store.
