When it comes to tubing for drip irrigation systems, there are common industry standards for sizing, but how do you choose the best fitting for the job?
Black tubing is typically 1/2-inch, also referred to .710. Dripline is usually sized at 17mm. Even with these standards, there are often variations in size between manufacturers.
Because of these variations, landscape contractors should be aware that fittings may not be interchangeable between manufacturers’ products. More importantly, a fitting designed for dripline should not be used on 1/2-inch poly and vice versa.
