Bistro Lighting: Who Needs It?

Bistro lighting fits into any event, landscape or hardscape design. Though aesthetically pleasing, bistro lighting is more functional than landscape lighting, allowing for use of space into the nighttime hours while maintaining a fun yet festive atmosphere throughout the space.

Bistro lighting can (and should) be offered on any residential installation. The outdoor living trend is all the rage, and homeowners want maximum use of their outdoor spaces. Use it to replace a nuisance back patio fixture or install it throughout the entire landscape to highlight sitting and dining areas, or pool and patio decking. Added to any outdoor living areas, bistro lighting provides a seamless transition between your interior and exterior living environments!

Bistro lighting can also lead to more opportunities outside of the typical landscape installation.

Event planners and coordinators use bistro lighting to set up temporary installations for weddings, parties and events. Restaurants and bars can use bistro lighting indoors or to showcase outdoor patio areas for a much more intimate dining experience. Wineries, retail nurseries, golf clubs and other venues featuring outdoor entertainment areas can all benefit from the extended use of space and added ambiance provided by bistro lighting.

Bistro lighting is also used in a wide variety of commercial applications, ranging from high-end shopping districts to street-scaping, and is often chosen for its ability to minimize or completely eliminate the need for high-wattage utilitarian lighting.

While holiday lighting—bistro’s close cousin—is typically limited to holiday installations, bistro lighting offers a year-round opportunity for professional contractors to build their business and satisfy the needs and desires of a broad client base.

Look around on your next outing, and you’ll likely see an example of bistro lighting almost anywhere you go. The demand is already out there for this easy-to-install product line, so why not add it to your service offering?
