4 Talking Points for Pitching LED Landscape Lighting to Customers

If you’re pitching your lighting services to new or existing customers, a great way to set yourself apart is with LED bulbs. Win your next lighting job with these four talking points for making the sale with LED lighting.

Long-term savings

Product purchase costs for LED lighting can be more up front than incandescent, which makes some customers hesitant about making the switch, but it will save them money in the long run.

Low-voltage LED landscape lighting uses a fraction—15 to 20 percent—of the electricity halogen or incandescent bulbs use.

If your customer’s monthly cost for landscape lighting is $100 per month using traditional lighting, a switch to LED landscape lighting could reduce that bill to as little as $20 a month.

Versatile options

When outdoor LED lights first were first released, you could point them out in a crowd—in a bad way. The bulb only came in a cold, blue tint. Now, with advancements in LED technology, you can’t tell the difference between traditional incandescent lighting and LEDs. Customers can get LED lighting in that natural, warm amber color.

LED lighting also does a much better job at directional lighting (spotlights, task lighting, etc.) compared to incandescent bulbs, which are generally more all over the place with its lighting direction.

Convenience

Changing light bulbs is pretty much a thing of the past with LED coming into play. You have to change traditional halogen outdoor bulbs about once a year (depending on your run rate). With LED bulbs, you only need to replace them when they fail (most LED bulbs have a minimum life span of 40,000 hours!).

Sustainability

All of these points lead up to one thing, LED lighting is known for its energy-saving capabilities. Not only will LED lighting save time and money, but your customers can rest assured that flipping on their light-switch isn’t affecting mother nature as much as traditional lighting.
