What’s new in irrigation pumps? Many things! The latest innovations make installation less-labor intensive, reduce unplanned call-backs and customer complaints, and dramatically boost pump reliability.
Are your installations up to the latest standards? Here are three ways to make them better in 2024.
‘Drop and Go’ Pre-Built Pump Packages for Small Sites
Cut pump installation in half with new pre-built pump packages. Avoid hours of hand assembly and the chance for forgotten parts by opting for the Munro Complete PRO II. Everything you need is pre-assembled and ready to go. In addition to cutting installation time, the end result looks and works better, too. Included are a professional-grade pump, the highest-quality pump control with built-in pump protection and simplified plumbing connections—all housed in a unique, attractive enclosure designed specifically for a pump.
Prevent Premature Death of Centrifugal Pumps
Run-dry (running the pump without prime or water in the intake) and deadheading (pump running but no valve open) are two common problems that can cause a pump to burn up and destroy itself. Standard pump controls don’t protect against these problems. The Munro SmartBox offers traditional pump start and pump protection in one. It includes pressure and temperature sensors that monitor the pump’s performance, proactively shutting the pump down in deadhead and run-dry conditions.
Pro-Grade Construction is Still Offered, But Shop Carefully
While many major pump brands have switched to plastics that can warp, degrade and disintegrate in pumping applications, the Munro LP Series centrifugal pump’s cast-iron construction and brass impeller mean they are built to stand the test of time, even in more unusual or difficult environments. Avoid irrigation pumps made for the “big box.” They’re less expensive, but will cost you and your customer because they only last a season or two.
